Niner Wine Estates Complimentary Tasting
On Friday evenings throughout May, The Rim Bar will host complimentary tastings of two popular Wine on Tap offerings ? the red and white blends from Niner Wine Estates. Join us from 5 to 7 p.m. every Friday for the tasting and to learn about this Paso Robles, California winery.
Unlike the process of serving wine from a bottle, wines on tap are not exposed to oxidation until the moment they are served, which ensures their quality and keeps their flavor as the vintner intended. In addition to reducing waste and carbon footprint created by serving in individual wine bottles, each of the Rim Bar's Wines on Tap wines is produced by a winemaker who practices biodynamic, sustainable or organic procedures in their production methods.
Niner Wine Estates proprietors, Richard and Pam Niner, believe that a blend of exceptional people, vineyards, tools, and ideas is the key to creating world-class wines and providing a unique wine country experience. Founded in 2001, Niner Wine Estates is dedicated to producing estate-grown wines from the premier wine-growing regions of Paso Robles and Edna Valley.
The Niner Wine Estates wines, and all of our Wine on Tap selections, also are available at The Rim from 4 to 1 a.m. nightly.
Aloha Summer Pool Party
On Friday evenings, guests can enjoy live musical entertainment and the return of the Resort's popular Food Truck Fridays. On Saturday evenings, the Resort will feature entertainment provided by the Resort's own summer DJ and the Aloha Summer Barbecue served poolside featuring Pulled Luau Pork sandwiches with Grilled Pineapple and Mango Salsa and Sweet Chili Garlic Sauce on a Hawaiian Bun and served with Hawaiian Potato Chips.
A signature activity and popular evening ritual, roasting Arizona s'mores over an open fire pit creates a fun and memorable experience for guests of all ages. $5 unlimited s'mores per person or complimentary if paying resort services charge.
"Star-Spangled Sundown" PaintScaping Show
In the evenings from May 23 ? July 5, 2014, Resort guests and locals alike can enjoy The Westin Kierland's newest tradition, PaintScaping, in which themed 3D images and animations are projected across the Resort?s 11-story main building and set to music. The art of "PaintScaping," derived from painting the landscape, merges a virtual world with the existing world by projecting 3-dimensional digital mapping onto buildings that act as the canvas for characters, colors, and objects as living and moving parts of the fa?ade. This summer the PaintScaping show, titled "Star-Spangled Sundown" will feature all-American imagery paired with patriotic music. Held at 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. nightly, the Star-Spangled Sundown PaintScaping show is free and open to the public.
