Continuing its celebration of the important contributions that Scottish immigrants made to early Arizona, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa has launched The Scotch Library, which provides both aficionados and those new to Scotch with the opportunity to select from more than 130 different labels.
Assisting guests with selections are Scotch Library Ambassadors, who are experts in the area of single malt and blend whiskies from Scotland. Not only are the Ambassadors passionate Scotch consumers themselves, but they have received extensive training to prepare them for their role as ambassadors. Served in two-ounce pours, the offerings are priced from $10 per serving to $475 per serving for the Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute, a limited edition ultra-premium blend from Pernod Ricard that is named for the 62 gun salute fired for royal anniversaries.
The Scotch Library is open from 5 – 7 p.m. nightly. Plus, at 6 p.m. on Friday evenings, the Resort hosts “An Evening of Scotches,” a tasting event featuring three selections of Scotch. Guests will learn about the differences between the labels, unique aspects of the various whisky regions of Scotland, and various ways to drink Scotch. “An Evening of Scotches” is priced at $45 person and advanced reservations are required.
