Arizona Culturekeepers

The Arizona Culturekeepers is a program designed to celebrate Arizonans who have made a positive impact on the Grand Canyon State's history, culture, environment and/or economy. They are pioneers of the state because of their entrepreneurial spirit, civic leadership and outstanding contributions.

Working in conjunction with the Arizona Historical Foundation, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa launched Culturekeepers in 2002 under the direction of Official Arizona State Historian, Marshall Trimble. This annual program has recognized ten people each year since its inception and will culminate in one hundred Arizona Culturekeepers being recognized by the state's 100th birthday in 2012. In programs like Arizona Culturekeepers, a new tradition has begun where we can celebrate the Arizonans of today who are currently making strides in carrying on the traditions, rituals and cultures of our state.
