A Panini for Your Thoughts

You spoke and we listened! In addition to boasting a fresh, new decor, the Resort’s coffee shop, CoffeeFlats and Snowbowls, will reopen on Sept. 15 with a new menu that features hot breakfast items, freshly made salads and a selection of made-to-order, gourmet Paninis.

Choosing will be difficult! The new gourmet Panini menu includes: a Ham, Cappicola and Salami Panini with cured tomato, aged provolone and roasted garlic aioli on Focaccia; a Pastrami and Swiss cheese Panini with five-grain mustards on pasilla chile rye bread; a grilled Portobello mushroom Panini with roasted red peppers, roasted butternut squash and roasted cauliflower with cured tomato pesto on a gluten-free roll; a Shaved Chicken Panini with chile cheddar and caramelized onions on a brioche roll and a Cheese Panini with aged Vermont cheddar or smoked gouda on Focaccia.

The Scotch Library Announces Autumn Master Tasting Schedule

Continuing its celebration of the important contributions that Scottish immigrants made to early Arizona, The Scotch Library at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa provides both aficionados and those new to Scotch with the opportunity to select from more than 150 different labels.

As a part of its ongoing Scotch program, the Resort hosts both Friday evening tastings as well as Master Tastings, hour-long events that feature entertaining, subject matter experts representing leading Scotch producers. Each Master Tasting event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is priced at $50 per person, which includes light food pairings.

The Sopa de red Quinoa Inca blends toasted red quinoa, choclo (a sweet Peruvian corn), Peruvian white beans and aji rocoto, a hot Peruvian chilli pepper that adds just the right zest!

New to deseo’s fish entrees is the Hiramasa Salteada featuring grilled Hiramasa king fish, which is widely regarded as one of the finest yellowtail sashimi fish. Kierland Golf Club Puts New Spin On Game

Long known for its popular Segway golf, the innovative Kierland Golf Club at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa has introduced yet another new way for golfers to enjoy the course – by bicycle.

Designed to create minimal impact on the course and maximum fun and fitness for the golfer, the bicycles feature small-diameter wheels and wide rubber tires and have two custom-designed golf bags mounted to the rear of the bike to carry a full set of clubs.
Nancy Dickens, director of golf at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, believes that many golfers are looking for fun, new ways to enjoy the game through innovative programs and products. She estimates that it takes an average of one hour to play nine holes when playing on bikes.
